There is a "Schedule" link and the date of enrolment is there for the 2010-2011 school year. However that page will be updated soon.
An "Alumni" link dedicated to the very talented PBSGMI Alumni is a great idea as well. I'd like to hear from our dear Seng Guan Alumnus from years past for this. Perhaps the alumni would like to send me their fabulous graduation pics to me for a Photobucket slideshow feature ;D

I guess i'll put it now, got nthing to do.
The philippine buddhist seng guan memorial institute (PBSGMI) was established in 1970 in honor of the venerable archbishop seng guan who was a zealous disciple of the lord buddha. he was a man who humbly served humanity; a man who lived his faith guided by the supreme ideals of peace, harmony and a strong ambition to spread buddhism in the philippines. His disciple rev. sik tang jit founded the philippine buddhist seng guan memorial institute, in honor of the memory of the great man.
The PBSGMI had humble beginnings. it started to offer a kindergarten course with only 21pupils. To accomodate its enrollees the school utilized a room in one of the buildings of the hwa chong temple of buddha as classroom. as the number of enrollees increased, other rooms in the same building were used and the school gradually complied with the requirements set by the department of education. in subsequent years, other courses such as nursery, preparatory and Complete Elementary Education were opened. The Pre-school course was given government recognition in 1973 and the complete elementary course on june 6,1980. in 1992, the school realized its dream of having its own school site and building when its transferred to its present location adjacent to the hwa chong temple of buddha.
Whatever the school had attained and accomplished can be attributed to the sacrifices and commitment of the people responsible for its growth and development. Aside from Rev. Sik tang jit, the founder and first director who served the school from 1970 to 1991, credit should also be given to Mrs. Conchita lopez who served as the 1st principal.
The school marked another milestone in its history when it started operatin. First year of the secondary course during the school year 2002-2003. To date, the school is already offering a complete secondary course. its first graduation exercise for the High school department highlighted the celebration of the 35th Foundation day of the school, last march 2006 at the MANILA HOTEL.
Through its 40 years of existence, the philippine buddhist seng guan memorial institute has lived up to its vision and mission of providing our youth with quality education imbued with desirable values and missionary zeal as exemplified by Venerable Archbishop Seng Guan after whom the School was named and also the Chinese Temple in Narra st. in Manila which is also called the SENG GUAN TEMPLE.

Thanks Cratus for posting the school history content. As for Rev. Sik Tang Jit's picture, i don't have that in my file. If you have that , can u also kindly scan and send it to me here? If you don't mind. I'll be grateful if you did that.

Cratus, is it ok for you to share your "The Official Philippine Buddhist Seng Guan Memorial Institute " Facebook account details(you know what that means, I am sure) to me? I need to make a Facebook Fan Box for our school website that will link to it. You and me will maintain that page. Our school website will be rebooted soon with a new design, which will include archived old photos and videos plus the history content you've made and I need to create a "Facebook Fanbox" to be embedded there.
